Dance Moves Page Two

Half Neck-Break

We can show you how to stop this happening in the lessons. Some will junk one or two beats by doing the move in a semi-fashion.

Hand pass behind

Can be done either side. Note the arm not held is best kept out of the way. Makes sure you step to the side when you drop to reach behind.

Hammerlock Inverted

Hand positioning plays a big part in making this work smoothly.

Hammerlock Wheel

Will feel stightly awkward as arms go behind your backs if not led carefully.

Hammerlock - tragic version

The hammerlock - tragic version. Thanks to a lady (Everlyn) who's first attempt at the hammerlock was bad beyond belief. Later, I realised that it was actually genius. A new move brought to you by MaxJive.

Flip right leg over left and keep both feet essentially in the same spot.

Hallelujah lean

Simple addition to the Hallelujah.

You can't see behind you - don't over lean.

I turn you turn

Sometimes called figure 8.

Intro Tee

Intro idea - work in progress for the start of Badlands. Note: This looks straightforward, it is straightforward, but the potential to topple is very great. A small lean creates a huge pull. (At that small angle I need to pull around 1/3rd of her body weight) If the angle increases another 10 degrees it exceeds half her body weight. Find something to hold on to, a handle of some sort and lean yourself to get an idea before you attempt this kind of move. You will quickly gauge the extent of the forces involved.

Flick to an element in the music.

The knee

Credit to Alistair who can't do a single dance without putting this in.

Difficulty level: scales - difficulty level

Lazy Octopus

Use when you are getting warm and follower has energy to spare. Leader can lean back and stay on the spot and follower will cover a quarter mile in a few moments.

Difficulty level: scales - difficulty level

Lean

Can be used mid dance or at the end. Make sure you put your leg out - else a tumble will ensue.

Mambo

Easy easy easy, yet lots, shall we say, feign lead and follow.
